Fighter Babe Nadia Nixon Makes her Pro MMA Debut this Friday

Fighter babe Nadia Nixon makers her pro MMA debut this Friday for Shamrock FC: Conquest in Kansas City, Missouri. We recently caught up with Nadia prior to her big debut this Friday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I was introduced to martial arts in early 2009 at the School Of Martial and Meditative Arts (SOMMA) as an alternative to regular workouts.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-My home gym is SOMMA out of Topeka, Kansas and KCBJJ out of Kansas City, Missouri. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings are my strength and conditioning workout with my personal trainer Aaron Harrison, rest for a couple hours then pick it up at SOMMA between 2 to 4 hours. Tuesday and Thursday mornings at KCBJJ, rest for a couple hours then back at SOMMA for 2 to 3 hours. Saturday will be open mat sparring, grappling between SOMMA, Ultimate MMA Blue Corner in Kansas City, or Impact Elite MMA.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-I will have my pro MMA debut November first versus Sharice Davids for Shamrock FC: Conquest in Kansas City, Missouri at Harrah’s Casino. I’m very excited as it’s both of our pro debuts and my opponent is very respectful and talented as well at 115 lbs.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-I look at training like studying for a test, and fight days are the actual test day where you put everything you learned and worked for together. Meeting new people and making friends along the way is great too.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-I have said it before and can’t stress it enough but find a good gym and people who will be honest with you. Push and test yourself. The sky is the limit!

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-Of course my coaches have my utmost respect; I have idols as well such as Lyoto Machida who applied his traditional martial arts into MMA perfectly.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Lyoto Machida is my favorite MMA fighter for being so talented and respectful.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I like to spend some time on my own to reflect and think, and also with my cat Chip.

For those who will inquire we have a couple questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-Happily married.

What do you look for in a guy?

-Honesty and a sense of humor.

What are your turn-ons?

-Being there to help others, especially people close to me and be a part of seeing their dreams come true. Helping my friends lift up some of their burdens and be there for them as much as I can.

What are your turnoffs?

-People who are selfish and look for the spotlight.

What would you say is your best feature?

-LOL! I don't know you might have to ask one of my friends!

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-Just to name few, to be one of the best MMA fighters worldwide, compete again at IBJJF and win it next year and to donate as much time as I can to help animals in need.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-First and foremost to the first person who believed in me and been by my side from day one and will always be with me on my martial arts and MMA career, Sensei Steve Twemlow. Thank you to Dr. Stewart Twemlow and my school, School Of Martial and Meditative Arts, my awesome BJJ teacher Jason Bircher and the guys and gals at KCBJJ, my great manager Benjamin Nougearas, and my new sponsor Title MMA.
