Fighter Babe Autumn King Returns to the Cage this Thursday

Fighter babe Autumn "Thunder" King returns to the cage this Thursday for Tuff-N-Uff in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fighting out of Oceanside, California we recently caught up with the mother of three and Army National Guard Staff Sergeant prior to her big fight this Thursday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-A friend referred me to Team Quest in Temecula in 2008 to help me deal with some of my issues related to PTSD. I started training that first day and was completely hooked.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I train at Triple Threat Fighting for a mixture of Muay Thai, boxing, and intense cardio and Dan Henderson's Gym for MMA, BJJ and wrestling.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-I am fighting Shannon Reid July 3rd in Las Vegas for Tuff-N-Uff.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience as a fighter has to be sparring, even though sometimes my performance is lackluster I find that every time I spar I find how I can improve and I feel alive with each hit I give and take.

-My worst experience would be last year when I put myself in the hospital trying to make weight. I completely disregarded my health because I missed fighting so much, and my health paid the price.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Do it!!!!! For me there is nothing else that makes me feel as alive as I do in the ring. With fighting you gain confidence and a positive self image.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-In MMA I have always loved Wanderlei Silva because he was such a brutal fighter. Lately though I am loving fellow soldier Tim Kennedy because he is an amazing fighter and has such an awesome outlook. In life I am inspired everyday by my fellow military personnel, specifically those who lay down everything for the freedom of this country. Also I find a great deal of inspiration through indie films and music, not necessarily the people performing, but the words and how they make me feel.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Wanderlei Silva, Tim Kennedy, Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc, Bas Rutten and Cris Cyborg.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-Watching movies, playing with my daughters and running. Sadly food shopping, you know how there are like clothing shopaholics, I am a food shopaholic. I love shopping for food, weird I know.

For those who will inquire we have a couple questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-No.

What do you look for in a guy?

-Must be funny, a little bit crazy, and be able to be more dominate than me (not an easy task).

What are your turn-ons?

-Intelligence, humor, and a well defined back (love upper-back body structure).

What are your turnoffs?

-Clingers, being overly into everything I am into, when clearly you weren't into that before we met.

What would you say is your best feature?

-Either my smile or my large backside.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-To fight as the main event on either Invicta FC or UFC.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Huge thank you to all my family, friends, and fans. Thank you to my sponsors MACP Combatives Gear, Ybarra Electric, Jack of all Nerds Podcast, Immortal Images Photography, and GFL. Huge shout out to my team at Triple Threat Fighting and my management team at Sangre Entertainment Management.
