Fighter Babe Jessica Zomcik Returns to the Cage this Friday

Fighter babe Jessica “The Zombie” Zomcik (7-3) returns to the cage this Friday at Tuff-N-Uff MMA in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. We recently caught up with Jessica prior to her return to the cage this Friday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I had sustained a spine injury which forced me to retire from playing women's football and after many months of rehab I happened to have met a guy who was involved in the sport.  I went to watch his class and was invited to try it out for a week.  I was hooked instantly and have been training for five years now.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I am out of Evolve MMA in Medina Ohio.  I work a forty hour job Monday through Friday and usually get to train three hours a day, six days a week.  Fighting is my life and I love it.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-My next match will be in Vegas at the Tuff-N-Uff women's 145 lb tournament and my opponent is Bryanna Fissouri.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience was realizing I could relocate to a better more complete academy and the sky is the limit.  My worst was probably losing to Tamikka Brents the second time.  It was definitely a low point in my life.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Be prepared to give up any social life, and push yourself beyond what you ever thought you could.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-Female pioneers in MMA, Gina Carano, Cyborg, and Rousey.  They paved the way and I look up to them.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Frankie Edgar.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I enjoy shopping, really just looking at stuff in the mall and whatnot.

For those who will inquire we have a couple questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-Sorry, I am happily taken :)

What do you look for in a guy?

-Sense of humor, similar values, athletic, and someone just as crazy as I am.

What are your turn-ons?

-Someone who is genuine and caring.

What are your turnoffs?

-Selfishness.

What would you say is your best feature?

-My right hand and my smile.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-UFC UFC UFC!

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-I would like to thank all my supporters; Riley Hotel Group, Parrish McIntyre Tire Company, Shootitmma.com, Dr. Scott Higley, Evolve MMA, my coaches Steve Traczyk, John Cook, Mike Riedel, Sonny Marchette, and all my teammates, fans and family and most importantly my mom and dad!
