Fighter Babe Molly Dupertuis Returns to the Cage Tonight

Fighter babe Molly Dupertuis’s long awaited return to the cage is tonight at HB Dick Promotions Extreme Cage Fighting in Paducah, KY to take on Tanekka Taylor. At the very last minute we caught up with this tough and sexy lady to discuss her fighting background and upcoming fight.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I started training back in 1996 because my older brother would always beat the crap out of me!

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I train at SSF in Clarksville, TN. I train Monday through Thursday about 6-10 every night, Friday’s we do sparring for a few hours and Saturday I do my MMA Boot camp class then some personal training sessions. Sunday is my day off and I try not to do anything! It's hectic but I love it!

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-This Saturday in Paducah, KY on HB Dicks 6 year anniversary show against Tanekka Taylor.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-I'd have to say my best is meeting such wonderful people involved in the sport. Between the fighters and some promotion companies, it is amazing the lengths they will go to do what's right for the sport and especially around Women's MMA.

-Worse would have to be tearing my ACL right after my first MMA fight. I felt I had so much to prove but I was stuck down for a year waiting on surgery, recovery, walking without a limp and strengthening it back up again.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Don't be afraid and don't give up! This sport is tough for sure, but don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't or shouldn't do it because you are a woman or because you have a pretty face.

What are some of the hurdles that you think Women in MMA need to overcome before Women's MMA will be considered a top level sport like Men's MMA is today?

-There is some amazing talent out there and a lot of people say we just don't have what it takes, but I beg to differ on that. I have seen women stand 10 inches apart and pound each other’s face and body with great technique till you almost can't watch anymore. I honestly think it’s just society and their image of what women shouldn't be doing. We are either taken as a joke and get cat calls while in the cage or we are called lesbians. It's like there can't be a happy medium where we just want to do it because we love it.

When do you think we will see women divisions in the UFC?

-Hopefully in the next few years. Ronda Rousey has been doing a great job working with Dana White so hopefully she will get him on board with it a little faster.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-My son Jacob, for sure. He is my little nugget and I started showing him how to punch and kick when he was one and a half. He is a junior me lol, it's pretty cute. I even have pictures of him doing a straight arm bar on Facebook!

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey are my heroes! Men, I would have to say GSP and Anderson Silva.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-Honestly I do nothing but lay on the couch or in bed and try not to move haha. I have no personal life anymore.

Of course we have a few questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-Not yet, just separated for now.

What do you look for in a guy?

-Someone who understands how much time I spend doing all of this and would give 110% support with it all. I like to have deep conversations about everything so they need to be able to open up to me. All the mushy stuff aside, I like a man who is in shape and can handle me. There is nothing worse than being able to throw a guy around who is your own size lol.

What are your turn-ons?

-I plead the fifth on that one.....

What are your turnoffs?

-Being cocky, that is number one. There is nothing worse than a guy who always boasts about himself or is searching for compliments. I'm not very big on PDA so if you try and get all over me, I tend to get a little frustrated.

What would you say is your best feature?

-I would like to think it’s my eyes but I'm pretty sure it's my abs and butt lol. I'll leave that one to everyone else to decide on.

Any future plans or dreams?

-I want to make it to the top of this sport, sooner rather than later. I want to inspire other women to go after what they want and know that they can do anything if they put their energy into making it a success.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Shout out to my fight team SSF. These guys have seen me through my best and worst. My best friends Michael Graham for never letting me forget what losing feels like and always being there for me. Yannick Jones for being my corner man and giving me a new injury every week lol and Jonathon Clemons for showing me how much work goes into this outside of training. Thank you to my coaches Ron Dayley and Chris Beasley for always having faith in me and never giving up when I wanted to give up on myself. Shout out to the rest of the guys and girls at the gym, especially Alyssa Vasquez. She has shown me so much about inner strength and helped me with some life issues I have had problems with. She is my number one fan and training partner, kick Afghanistan's ass girl! Last but not least, my Boot camp girls. You ladies have shown me so much love and support over the last few months and I am forever grateful to have you all in my life. Huge shout out to my sponsors TUSSLE FIGHT GEAR, UNITED CHIROPRACTIC and PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS CLARKSVILLE!

Thank you very much for your time Molly and good luck tonight! To get in touch with or wish Molly good luck, reach out to her on Facebook.
