Andy Nguyen Returns to the Legacy FC Cage this Friday

Babes of MMA sponsored fighter Andy “The CrAsian” Nguyen (2-2) returns to the cage this Friday night for Legacy Fighting Championship 57 at Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana. Fighting out of Bossier City, Louisiana for Karate Mafia we recently caught up with Andy prior to her big fight this Friday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I got into MMA in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina after I sold my salon in Mauldin, South Carolina. I had moved to Myrtle Beach so my son could be closer to his father who now raises him so I can purse my MMA career. I'm a tomboy at heart and MMA was just legalized at that time. Three months of training later and I won my first amateur bout. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-Monday’s are our rest day. Tuesday thru Friday it's 2 miles twice a day, 2 sessions with lunch break in between. We train about 35-40 hours a week. Just like a job.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-My upcoming fight us with Legacy 57 fighting Bi Nguyen here in Louisiana!

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience was winning the first EVER atomweight King of the Cage (KOTC) belt as a professional. My worst experience is when I fought a 135-er in my amateur days and lost via TKO.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-The best advice I can give is fight with your heart and fight often as an amateur to get the experience!

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-Life is amazing and it will teach you how to dig deep within yourself.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-My favorite fighter is my best friend and training partner Andrea “KGB” Lee. So beautiful, strong, sweet, talented and humble AF! LOL!

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I enjoy comedy shows, I love to cook and I’m terrible at golf!

Lastly before we let you go would you like to send some shout outs?

-Shout out to The Hustler Club for sponsoring me and hosting my after party there. Thank you Coach Donny Aaron for pushing me through those 11 rounds of dress rehearsals. He unleashed the BEAST in me. My training partners especially Kendrick William for mocking my opponent's stances. My family, friends, fans, sponsors and haters. Without you guys, I'm nothing.

Thank you very much for your time Andy and good luck on fight night! Watch this sold out event live on AXS TV this Friday night starting at 10 PM ET. Send your shout outs to Andy on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
