Calie Cutler Fights for the KOTC Strawweight Title this Friday

Fighter babe Calie “The Honey Badger” Cutler (4-2) fights for the King of the Cage strawweight title this Friday night at Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, Minnesota. Fighting out of Macomb, Michigan for Jacked N Tan Fight Team we recently caught up with Calie prior to her big fight this Friday night for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I have been doing MMA for 3.5 years now, but I wrestled for nine before that.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-There is no typical week of training for me. Some weeks we focus on the ground, others on stand up and other weeks I may be busy with school and have limited practice time.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-I am fighting for the King of the Cage belt on January 8th against Jamie Colleen (2-0).

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experiences are when I am covered in blood, whether it’s mine or my opponents. My worst experience is leaving a fight knowing I had more fight in me to give.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Make the adjustment and get use to making the adjustment. You are going to experience a lot of trial and error, which is ok as long as you use it.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-The people who inspire me are people who work full time jobs, or have a family or something that makes them busy but they always find time to get their butts into the gym. Some even give up sleep to do what they love.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-My favorite MMA fighter when I was young and first sparked an interest with MMA is Cabbage. The man never gave up.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I love biology. There is nothing like trucking around the woods looking for bugs or different molds and fungi. I also love to backpack.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

:) oh I got some plans.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Shi Lessner Photography, Frank's Diner, Hard Merchandise, Angelica Fisheries, Ink Inc., Sicchic, Wojounlimited LLC, War of the Roses Girls wrestling, So Fly Combat League, ESP Design Studio and Onnit.

Thank you very much for your time Calie and good luck on fight night! Click here to purchase tickets, check out her website and send your shout outs to Calie on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
