Fighter Babe Veronica Rothenhausler Returns to the Cage this Saturday

Fighter babe Veronica Rothenhausler (1-0) returns to the cage this Saturday at Invicta FC 6 in Kansas City, Missouri. We recently caught up with Veronica to learn a little more about her prior to stepping back into the cage.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I’ve been training for about 3 years now. I’ve always been an athlete, but one of my buddies asked me to go to a local MMA practice with him a few years back and when I found out you’re allowed to punch people in the face without the 5-0 being called, I just kept going back! Just kidding…for the most part. I fight for Invicta FC as a featherweight. I’m 3-0 as an amateur and 1-0 as a pro.

Where are you currently training out of?

-I am fighting out of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California. I’ve been there for the better part of a year now and I love it!

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you’re fighting and where?

-On July 13th, I fight Mollie Estes in Kansas City, Missouri at Invicta Fighting Championship 6. We were supposed to fight back in April, but Estes got pulled up to fight Julia Budd. Let’s just say I’ve been waiting quite some time for this fight and I’m more than ready.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience has been evolving into an overall better person. Fighting has given me a second chance at being a professional athlete and that’s huge for me. I played volleyball, softball and basketball throughout most of my life, and it’s hard to really “get it” as a kid, so having the mentality I do now allows me to be the athlete I was always capable of.

-My worst experience would probably be my first cut to 145. Haha, luckily I’ve gotten better at that.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-You have to love it. You have to have a crazy, overwhelming passion for it.

What are some of the hurdles that you think Women in MMA need to overcome before Women’s MMA will be considered a top level sport like Men’s MMA is today?

-I think we’re doing everything we need to do. Women are bringing a lot of excitement to the MMA world. I’m really proud of us as athletes for achieving everything that we have and continuing to grow. I love that we’re showing little girls that they can do anything that the boys are doing.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-My mom! She taught me to dream big and never give up. My amazing team and coach inspire me every single day.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Duane Ludwig, TJ Dillashaw, Dan Henderson, Urijah Faber, Lance Palmer, Chris Weidman, Justin Buchholz, Rich Montoya and all of my TAM boys!

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I love to spend time in my garden. Having fresh fruits and veggies is a must for me. I like to play with my pup, Jackson. Hangin out with friends laughing!

For those who will inquire we have a couple of questions for the male readership.

Are you single?

-No, I have a bad ass boyfriend, Zach.

What do you look for in a guy?

-I like big guys! I always have. I like em’ tall, big and athletic. Definitely needs to be able to make me laugh.

What are your turn-ons?

-Muscles. My boyfriend said to write “backwards hats” lol.

What are your turnoffs?

-Rude guys. Also not being able to throw a baseball.

What would you say is your best feature?

-My eyes.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-Gettin that belt baby! I’d like to have a farm too. Have a couple chickens and cows, white picket fence, you know.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Absolutely. Team Alpha Male, Duane “Bang” Ludwig, MMA Inc., Patino Diet, Torque, Unbreakable Mouthpieces, Bang Muay Thai, MMA Draft, Invicta FC, Beth Del Cid, and all of my friends and family for supporting me.

Thank you very much for your time Veronica and good luck on fight night! Send your shout outs to Veronica Rothenhausler on Twitter and be sure to tune in to Invicta FC 6 this Saturday.
