Fighter Babe Anna Elmose Returns to the Cage this Saturday
Fighter babe Anna “Panda” Elmose (3-1) returns to the cage this Saturday for UFC Fight Night 99 at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Known for her knockout out power this strawweight contender looks to pick up her first victory in the Octagon. Fighting out Rumble Sports in Copenhagen, Denmark we recently caught up with Anna prior to her big fight this Saturday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.
How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?
-I started doing Kickboxing, when I was 25. I went from Kickboxing to boxing to Muay Thai and then finally I fell in love with MMA. I started doing MMA three years ago.
Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?
-I train at Rumble Sports in Copenhagen, Denmark. Leading up to a fight, I usually train twice a day. When I'm not fighting, I still train every day, but the intensity is lower.
Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?
-I'm fighting Amanda Cooper on November 19th in Belfast, Northern Ireland at the UFC Fight Night event.
What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?
-I've learned a lot from all of my fights, so even though I've both won and lost, they've all been good experiences.
What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?
-Just go and do it. It's kind of difficult to grasp, how much fun it really is, until you've actually tried it.
What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?
-My teammates at Rumble Sports are my big inspiration. They lift me up, when I'm down, and I do the same for them. I get so much support, and I'm so grateful to have such a strong team around me.
Who are your favorite MMA fighters?
-I never really watch MMA. I'm a fighter, not a fan. But of course, I find inspiration in what others do. My coach often sends me videos of fighters, who do certain techniques or utilize certain strategies he thinks I should work with.
How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?
-I work as a real estate agent, so I don't have much time off, really. I do love to chill out with my husband, visit my family or friends and generally just relax. During fight camp, my down time is spent in bed watching TV series.
Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.
Any future plans or dreams?
-I do this to become the best in the World. This lifestyle is fun and challenging, but it's also extremely tough. I go through all this, because I'm gunning for the best.
Any shout outs you would like to make?
-Of course I'd love to thank my teammates and my dietist, Martin Kreutzer, who all support me so much.
Thank you very much for your time Anna and good luck on fight night! Tune into the UFC Fight Pass preliminaries starting at 12:15 PM ET to catch Anna’s fight live and send your shout outs to her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and on Snapchat at anna_elmose!
